Courtyard residence, Farm Preserve, Jacks Point

About the Project

This new residence is a substantial family home within the Farm Preserve at Jacks Point, designed as a long-term home for a client with a clear vision of how they wanted to live.

A large west-facing courtyard anchors the plan. The main living spaces are glazed on both sides; east to the Remarkables, west into the sheltered courtyard, creating an uninterrupted connection between the mountain outlook and the private outdoor areas of the house. The courtyard captures the afternoon and evening sun while providing shelter from the prevailing winds, making it a genuinely usable outdoor space throughout the Queenstown seasons.

The house is generous without being excessive. Five bedrooms, a large garage, home office, wine cellar, media room, and an outdoor pavilion for al fresco dining sit alongside a kitchen scaled for serious entertaining.

The palette works within the Jacks Point design guidelines; schist stone, concrete, and timber. Materials that are quiet and durable, suited to a home built to last.

Currently under construction.

  • We were proud to be one of Simon's first independent clients, and he rewarded our trust with a stunning design that perfectly captures what we wanted. He navigated any challenges along the way with determination and good humour. Warm, communicative, and genuinely talented. We'd recommend him without hesitation.
